Design notes from the garden path

Puzzle Mango Frenzy is an independent, reader-focused guide for home gardeners and landscape enthusiasts who love the moment a garden reveals something unexpected.

Why we write

Most garden advice treats beauty and practicality as separate chapters. We think they belong on the same page. A spiral bed is only delightful if you can weed it; an illusion path only works if nobody trips on it. Our notes put access, climate and upkeep beside every visual idea.

We focus on warm climates, from the humid tropics to the frost-free subtropics, while drawing inspiration from gardens worldwide, including Villandry, Hampton Court, Lunuganga, Las Pozas and the work of Roberto Burle Marx.

How we research

We draw on published garden histories, botanic garden resources, plant society guidance and first-hand observation in public gardens. Where advice depends on region, such as invasive species or plant restrictions, we say so and point you to local authorities rather than generalising.

IndependenceWe are not affiliated with any garden, nursery, designer or attraction we mention. We do not accept payment for coverage, and the site carries no advertising or affiliate links.

Our content is general information, not professional design, engineering or horticultural advice for a specific site. For retaining walls, large water features, electrical lighting or steep slopes, please consult qualified local professionals.
